In the studio there is four Balanced Body Reformers, the Tower . The larger pieces of Pilates equipment work together alongside the mat work to create a vast system of exercises that can be modified to vary the intensity of an exercise. Balanced Body Equipment is the Rolls Royce of Pilates equipment manufactured and shipped from USA.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN YOUR FIRST Studio SESSION

In your first 1:1 session we will have a discussion centred around your general health and wellbeing , review any injuries you may have, any relevant medical history, past, current and future activity levels and previous Pilates/fitness experience and any goals you might have Pilates or otherwise.

Depending on your fitness levels and what your goal is we will run through some basic exercises in the first instance to see how you are moving and where your strength is at so that we have baseline to see your progression

Private Studio Sessions 1:1, 1:2 or Small Group

Sessions in the Studio can either be done 1:1, 1:2 or a small group with the maximum of 3.

1:1’s and 1:2’s are private, bespoke sessions that are designed around you.  They are great if you have not done Pilates before or have any injuries or health conditions that mean working as part of a bigger group is not suitable for you or if you have a specific focus such as a health and fitness goal or if you would just rather all the focus was on you. 1:2 or small groups work well if you have similar needs and goals.

Group REformer Classes

Group Reformer classes are great for if you would like a general all over workout on the Pilates equipment. Most of all they are fun, welcoming classes targeted at a Mixed Level, so provide exercises that will help a beginner become more acquainted with the equipment but also challenge the intermediate or stronger client.  This means the classes are inclusive for people through various stages in life.

Pregnant Clients can be accommodated in the regular reformer classes in addition to the Pre Natal Reformer Class

There are couple of routes to joining the group reformer classes if you haven’t been before:

1. If you are not used to being on a reformer it would be a good idea to book in for a 1:1 in the first instance so that we can get to know one another a little and to get to know the equipment. I am always happy to chat through your specific requirements prior to starting.

2. Join the Beginners class if the times suit you, these are a slower paced class with a bit more explanation. Purchase either a single reformer class pack or the reformer trial pack.

3. If you have been on a reformer before, are quite active generally with no significant injuries or medical conditions feel free to jump into the regular classes, either with a single reformer class pack or the reformer trial pack.

Pilates on the Mat - Zoom or in person

Mat Pilates is based on the original exercises Joseph Pilates developed to strengthen his own body as a very young man and then began teaching others. The Mat work came before any of the Pilates Apparatus (equipment) he developed. Mat Pilates can be practiced anywhere, anytime and can be modified for any age, body, or fitness level and can range from gentle release work to dynamic and athletic.

My classes are generally classed as Mixed Level meaning that I cue exercises at various level so everyone feels challenged but are working at their own level.
