The Menopause Workshop

When: Saturday 10th June 2023 from 13.30 - 17.00

Where: The Pilates Attic, 50 Thistle Street North East Lane, EH2 1DA

Our journey through menopause affects us all differently and often with the symptoms not being obvious until our overall health and wellbeing is affected.

For most the journey through perimenopause into menopause is a natural event, however for some they will have an induced menopause following treatment for some specific cancers or after having a hysterectomy. Our paths into menopause may vary and symptoms experienced during this phase of life will greatly differ from women to women, the only certainty on this journey through life is that all women are going to travel along this sometimes turbulent road.

That’s why Emily McDonald, Jo Munro, Karen Edwards and Lyndsay Harrison are inviting you to an afternoon of bespoke workshops to empower you with knowledge to manage the most common symptoms and to help you navigate this complex phase in life.

With their combined experience and expertise in the sphere of female health and wellbeing, this is a great opportunity to:

  • Learn more about what to expect in terms of symptoms and how to manage them with Lyndsay, a Nurse Practitioner and founder of Workplace Menopause Support.

  • Work with Karen, a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist at Physio Core & Floor, through real-time feedback on your pelvic floor function and guidance on how to maintain good pelvic health. This session includes an ultrasound pelvic floor demonstration.

  • Join Emily from Emily McDonald Pilates & Massage and Jo from The Pilates Attic for two 45 minute Pilates sessions. There is a session on both the mat and the reformer to demonstrate the importance of mobility and strength training, especially during the menopause phase. Come dressed and ready to move!

These are small group sessions of roughly 4-5 people, ensuring a personal touch while allowing you time to ask questions and get the most out of your session.

To finish the day there will be a general Q&A session with the panel - nibbles and refreshments will be available throughout the workshop.

The price for the workshop is £125 - a  £15 early bird discount is available if you book before 22nd May, use EARLYBIRD110 when you checkout.
